Hello, I have used Pocket PC's for a couple of years now and love them. I keep my reading material, appointments etc on them. I currently have a problem though. I got a used Samsung SPH I-700 which is great now I don't have to carry a phone and my PDA. It will not sync though. I am running Windows XP home on a Dell Inspiron 531S. None of the versions of activesync I have downloaded will detect it. I believe I need the proper Windows CE driver but can not find one. I have downloaded the driver from the Samsung website and still no go. I have no disc for this phone and have had no luck finding one. I am going to try getting a new sync cable and see if that helps but the one I have is in fine shape so I do not think that is it. Activesync just refuses to see it. Any help or ideas at all would be greatly appreciated.

Ugh.... I've ran into this before... It's a setting on the device for USB. I'm looking for it, but can't find it. I'll update when I do, otherwise try looking around in settings under the communications tab or in the Active Sync settings.

Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC and uncheck the box.

Mine does not have USB to PC in the connections tab. I am still trying. At this point I am going to get a new usb connection cord and I am trying to find an install disc.

Plus, make sure when you install the active sync that you have the phone connected to the pc. And, when you install the drivers from Samsung to also have the phone connected to the pc. My I-760 was picky if I didn't have the phone attached to the computer during my installs.
